The long time go-to expert on Travel and father of the Frommer’s Travel books has compiled a top ten list of his favorite travel destinations in the entire world. Sanibel Island was ranked at #1 above locations such as Paris, Bali and St. Johns USVI. This distinction will no doubt be a boost to our local economy. It echos the feeling many of us have held for a long time that these islands are very special. I have included a link below to the Frommer’s website where the full list is posted.

After hearing the good news last week we took our daughter to the beach to watch the sunset. We walked along the sky blue water and named shells that she found along the way. It was a great reminder of why we call Sanibel Island our home. There were several lucky families on the beach for the sunset which put on a spectacular show of red and orange as it disappeared in the water. It was a perfect end to a great day.
