Volunteer for Sanibel’s Restoration of Clam Bayou

Volunteers are again needed to assist with mangrove restoration activities in Clam Bayou. Interested volunteers, capable of physically demanding work, should contact Eric Milbrandt at the SCCF Marine Lab at (239) 395-4617 or emilbran@sccf.org to register. Volunteers will assist in collecting mangrove propagules and paddling by canoe or kayak to plant propagules or mangroves seedlings at restoration sites in Clam Bayou.Volunteers are needed on the following dates:

These restoration activities in Clam Bayou, led by the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation (SCCF), are funded by grants and in-kind support from NOAA, the Nature Conservancy, the National Association of Counties, and the City of Sanibel. Restoration of oyster and mangrove habitats will benefit many important fish species and invertebrates that support the fishery resources.
